Pupil Premium Information
Schools receive Pupil Premium funding to help address the attainment and progress gaps between groups of children. Research has shown us that over time, children from particular backgrounds do not perform as well as other students in their peer group. Schools should use this funding to address this issue. At Ridgewood, historically, students who are eligible for the Pupil Premium have achieved in line with their peer group, and whilst this is pleasing, we continue to work hard to improve the life chances for all of our young people. The lead on Pupil Premium at Ridgewood is Mr J Cannon (Deputy Headteacher).
Those eligible for the Pupil Premium are students from the following backgrounds:
Children who have free school meals
Children in looked-after care, under a special guardianship or who have been adopted
Children who are from service families
*Important – children will qualify for the Pupil Premium if they have fallen into one or more of these categories in the last six years.
