Our school production of 'Into the Woods' has come to a close - with our best performance yet on closing night, last night.
Our cast, dancers, band, and crew have really enjoyed entertaining our hundreds of audience members across five performances. All that's left to say is THANK YOU, for your support and for giving us the opportunity to show you what Ridgewood Performing Arts is all about. We are very proud of all our performers over what has been a very demanding week for them- we think each and every student has performed absolutely fabulously.
A big thanks has to go to the Friends of Ridgewood for their support with refreshments during the week, and also to A Lindsay audio for the loan of our wonderful radio microphones.
We look forward to welcoming you all back to our upcoming future performances- next up is our Carol Concert in early December- details to follow shortly. "

Ridgewood is hosting a book fair next week. There are lots of fantastic and exciting books for sale. Students can look at the books in the Library at break time, lunch time and after school. They can then collect a wish-list form to be taken home so parents/carers can pay for the books online. Books can then be collected from the Library the following day.
Ridgewood students and staff celebrated a great set of GCSE results in today. Headteacher, Rae Cope, said, “We are delighted with our results this year, especially as we have continued to improve across almost every subject. These results show what students can achieve when they work incredibly hard and when they are taught well. We really look forward to seeing what our students go on to achieve in the future. Exam results are only part of their learning and success. We will really miss the contributions they have made at Ridgewood. They are a very skilled year group with great potential. They deserve the absolute best.”
We had a strong number of high performers this year who achieved grades 7, 8 and 9 across a variety of subjects. Amongst these were: Josh, Ann-Marie, Anya, Reis, Amelia, Nancy, Lyla, Tom, Francesca, Rikki, Jacob, Connor, Edie and Daisy. They should be congratulated for consistently performing at a high standard across the large number of exam papers that students sit now.
So many students made great progress this year that we can only highlight here those who made exceptional progress. Special congratulations go to: Maddie, Ruby-Grace, Alex, Anya, Evie, Francesca, Jacob, Lyla, Miles and Reis. There are lots more names that we would like to congratulate.
Deputy Headteacher, James Cannon, said,” Congratulations to the class of 2024 who have been a privilege to teach. They are ambitious, determined and thoroughly nice people. They have had excellent support from their parents and we should always remember the great start that they had in their Stourbridge primary schools.”
Good luck to our lovely Year 11. Make the most of the opportunities in front of you. It might feel a bit scary at times but you are all very capable. If you have any worries and need help over the next few weeks, please let us help you.
You can do it. Go for it!
